1D Tetris is a variant of Tetris using a one-dimensional playfield in a vertical shape. Due to this restriction, the only available tetrimino is the I piece, and pieces may not be moved left or right or rotated. Every tetrimino fills the bottom four rows of the playfield upon locking, causing a tetris (4x) line clear and thus resetting the playfield. As such, there is no legitimate way to progress in or lose the game.
